Arab Iron and Steel Union holds 129th Board of Directors meeting in Doha

On the sidelines of the 17th Arab Steel Summit in Doha, AISU held its 129th Board of Directors meeting chaired by Mr. Awaad Al-Khalidi. The agenda covered Union performance, financial statements, strategic plans, and challenges such as global overcapacity, energy costs, and Asian competition.

Eng. Ahmed Ezz Elected as Chairman of Arab Iron and Steel Union (2025–2029 Term)

At its 130th Board meeting and 58th General Assembly in Nouakchott (11 May 2025), AISU elected Eng. Ahmed Ezz (Ezz Steel, Egypt) as Chairman for 2025–2029. Vice-Chairmen are Hadeed (KSA), SNS (Algeria), Emsteel (UAE), and Qatar Steel. A new Executive Committee was also established including seven member companies.

Experts at the 18th Arab Steel Summit (Muscat, Oct 2025) confirmed that infrastructure and housing are the primary steel demand drivers in the Arab world. Saudi Vision 2030 megaprojects, Egypt's new administrative capital, and Gulf infrastructure programs were cited as key catalysts, with green infrastructure emerging as a new demand segment.
