The Arab Iron and Steel Union held its 130th Board of Directors meeting and 58th General Assembly on May 11 in Nouakchott, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, with the participation of representatives from 45 iron and steel companies across the Arab world. The meeting was hosted by the National Industrial and Mining Company (SNIM). Eng. Ahmed Ezz, Chairman of Ezz Steel (Egypt), was elected Chairman of the Board for the 2025–2029 term. Four companies were elected as Vice Chairmen: Hadeed Company (Saudi Arabia), National Steel Company SNS (Algeria), Amsteel (UAE), and Qatar Steel (Qatar). The Board established an Executive Committee consisting of the Chairman, four Vice-Chairmen, and three members including the Libyan Iron and Steel Company, National Industrial and Mining Company (Mauritania), and Joud Steel Company (Syria).
