Arab Iron and Steel Union Technical Committee Holds Its Fifth Meeting in Cairo

The Technical Committee of the Arab Iron and Steel Union held its fifth meeting on 21–22 September 2025 at the Sheraton Cairo Hotel, with the participation of representatives from several Arab countries. Mr. Mohammed Muteb Al Ameri, Executive Vice President of Operations at Emirates Steel, was elected as Chairman of the Committee for the term 2025–2029, while Eng. Mohamed Fouad Emam, Head of Technical Affairs at Ezz Steel Group, was elected as Vice Chairman. The members reviewed technical reports on the topic "Utilization of By-products in the Steel Industry" and discussed ways to maximize their benefits. The committee members also visited Ezz Steel in Ain Sokhna to explore production lines and exchange expertise. It was decided that the committee's sixth meeting will be held in Casablanca, Kingdom of Morocco, in February 2026, at the invitation of the Moroccan Steel Company. The next study topic will be: "Corporate Initiatives to Reduce Operating Costs and Enhance Competitiveness."
