About AISU
The Arab Iron and Steel Union (AISU) was established in 1972 as the first specialized Arab organization dedicated to the iron and steel industry under the umbrella of the Council of Arab Economic Unity of the League of Arab States. AISU is a non-governmental Arab organization with neither a political affiliation nor a commercial mandate. Its permanent headquarters (General Secretariat) is located in Algiers, People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, with regional offices serving various parts of the Arab world. AISU's mission is centered on developing and advancing the iron and steel industry throughout the Arab region through strategic plans and initiatives that support sustainable industrial growth and regional integration. AISU brings together a broad network of companies operating across the iron and steel value chain from various Arab countries.

Board of Directors
The AISU Board of Directors sets the union's general policies and oversees the execution of its work plans. It is composed of representatives from leading iron & steel companies across the Arab world, and meets periodically to review performance and approve strategic initiatives.
